Machine Tool Technology Program

Awards offered: AAS, Certificate, Short-Term Certificate MTT, and Short-Term Certificate Tool & Die

The Machine Tool Program offers training in programming, setup, and the use of machine tools to produce precise components for the die stamping, plastic injection molding, aerospace, commercial, medical, automotive, and military industries, using both manual and computer-controlled machine tools.

Students will learn to read technical drawings and use multiple computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software applications, cutting tools, measuring tools & inspection gauges to produce and inspect precision component parts made from a wide array of metals and various other materials.

The MTT program provides hands-on experience with Advanced Manufacturing techniques in our state-of-the-art shop, which includes 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines and a Zeiss coordinate measurement machine (CMM).

Students trained in the MTT program are prepared to pursue careers in the following fields:

  • Mold Maker/Builder
  • Tool & Die Maker/Builder
  • Machinist
  • Programmer
  • Set Up Technician
  • Operator
  • Inspector/Quality Control
