The mission of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program at Northeast Alabama Community College is to prepare competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics who are capable of functioning safely, effectively, and ethically within the professional scope of practice. The purpose of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program at Northeast Alabama Community College is to provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality education that prepares students for employment as competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics. The EMS Program further believes that professional behavior, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and effective communication are fundamental components of emergency medical practice. Upon successful completion of EMT, Advanced EMT, and Paramedic curricula, the student may sit for the National Registry of EMTs examination and apply for state licensure.
