The Art Department at NACC offers a full range of the Visual Arts courses available in the first two years of an Art curriculum. We offer classes in art appreciation, art history, studio classes in drawing, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, painting, print-making, sculpture, and ceramics. These courses are all transferable inside their own areas.
Art is not about art. Art is about life, and that sums it up. --Louise Bourgeois
Whether you are an aspiring artist or just love art and want to learn more, there is a place for you in the Department of Art. The Department of Art provides an innovative, energetic and interdisciplinary learning environment that focuses on excellence in the areas of art history and studio art. We provide the basic fundamental to help you develop your skills as an artist, as well as offer general enrichment to students working within the broader context of other curriculum.
The Department of Art encourages creative thinking and intellectual inquiry along side traditional craft. We are preparing students to become practicing artists, art educators, or professionals in other art or art-related fields. Courses within our department provide an informative, resourceful atmosphere that encourages artistic initiative and investigation.
