Letter of Intent
The Center for Information Assurance (CIA) was established in 2014 through the Computer Science (CIS) Department at Northeast Alabama Community College.
The vision of the Center for Information Assurance (CIA) is to provide information assurance and cyber defense (IA/CD) education, research, and practice, to promote collaborative IA/CD activities within and outside the NACC campus, to prepare the next generation of professionals to embark on a life-long commitment to IA/CD based on ethical and professional conduct, and to pursue excellence in Information Security Assurance technology and practice.
The Computer Science (CIS) Department's Center for Information Assurance (CIA) mission is to provide NACC with a pathway for research and education in computer network security, digital forensics, cryptography, ethical hacking, risk assessment and mitigation, disaster recovery and management, security regulations and compliance, information security management, and cyber defense. The CIA facilitates the partnerships and collaboration’s across disciplines at Northeast Alabama Community College, high schools and Universities in Northeast Alabama. The CIA strives to promote a clear vision toward contributing to the national information assurance and cyber security, while promoting awareness in our community.
