Northeast Alabama Community College to Host Writer’s Workshop with Jeremy Campbell

July 31, 2025

The English Department at Northeast Alabama Community College, in partnership with Sigma Kappa Delta, is pleased to announce this year’s featured author for the annual Writer’s Workshop. The event will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 106 of the Health Education Building on the NACC campus.

This year’s workshop, titled “The Art of Reimagining: Crafting Fiction from Fact,” will be led by Jeremy Campbell, a National Emmy Award-winning journalist and acclaimed fiction writer.

Campbell brings over 25 years of experience in journalism and newsroom leadership, currently serving as Senior Director of News at Spectrum News Texas in Austin. Previously, he was Managing Director at NY1, where he oversaw two 24/7 news channels and championed content innovation and inclusive journalism. His investigative work has sparked policy change and public awareness on issues such as maternal health, veterans’ benefits, and human trafficking. His career includes coverage from Hurricane Katrina to Capitol Hill and has earned him multiple Murrow, Emmy, and Gracie awards.

In addition to his journalism career, Campbell is also a published author of two novels—Between the Mountains and Between the Causeways—and is a respected educator in storytelling and journalism leadership.
