Northeast Alabama Community College is welcoming ITT Technical Institute students following ITT Tech’s closure in early September. ITT was closed due to an investigation and sanctions by the US Department of Education.
NACC stands ready to assist students affected by this closure. Former ITT Technical Institute students who need assistance in continuing their education should contact the Admissions Office at NACC now.
Depending upon the student’s program of study at ITT Technical Institute, NACC may accept transfer credits, may award non-traditional credit through a prior learning assessment, or may award non-traditional credit through one of several approved assessment or experiential learning methods. This type of traditional or non-traditional credit will allow students to complete their education goals in programs leading to nationally recognized credentials, associate’s degrees, certificates, or short-term certificates. ITT students will be required to complete a NACC application and meet all entrance/progress standards.
NACC offers the following programs that may align with coursework completed by former ITT Tech students:
Business Management and Supervision (AAS)
Criminal Justice (AAS)
Computer Information Systems (AAS)
Drafting and Design Technology (AAS)
Industrial Electronics Technology (AAS)
Industrial Systems Technology (AAS) with options in Multi-Skilled Maintenance and Electrical & Instrumentation
Medical Assistant (AAS)
Office Administration (AAS) with options in Medical Office and Paralegal
NACC is proud of its history of responding and accommodating the needs of the local community and pledges to assist these displaced ITT Tech students.
Registration for the 2017 Spring Semester begins by appointment on October 3. Regular registration is January 4 and classes begin on January 5. Students may complete an Admissions Application on line at www.nacc.edu or by visiting the Admissions Office on the campus of NACC.
