By popular demand, Northeast Alabama Community College will once again be hosting a Social Graces Etiquette Seminar for those students entering the 7th grade through those who have just graduated 12th grade. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 24 on the NACC campus from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The cost is $40 and will include a three-course meal for students.
Social Graces is a four-hour course that will cover social etiquette, as well as dining and professional etiquette, and being your brand. The seminar gives students the opportunity to enhance their etiquette skills.
“Etiquette is something that I am very passionate about, and the focus of Social Graces is kindness, respect and consideration which is the true meaning of etiquette,” said Chasley Bellomy, NACC Event Planner and Director of Alumni Relations. “Etiquette is something that we can all practice no matter our setting or age. I really encourage the students to practice kindness, respect and consideration no matter their circumstances, and we talk about ways each of them can do so.”
“Good etiquette and social skills more and more are being recognized as keys to success in most all fields,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “Ms. Bellamy’s class provides a great early foundation in acquiring these skills.”
The winter class of Social Graces was a full class of 20 students, 7 girls and 13 boys. “We had a really great response from our January class, so we decided to offer the course again for the summer,” continued Bellomy. “I hope many of the students in our area are able to participate. The students in the winter really enjoyed the class, and we are looking forward to another wonderful group of students to have on campus this summer.”
