Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) students Ms. Lizeth Ramirez and Ms. Audrey Carroll have been named to the Alabama Community College System’s All-Alabama Academic Team. They were recognized for their academic achievements at a luncheon held recently at the Legends Conference Center in Prattville, Alabama.
“We congratulate Ms. Ramirez and Ms. Carroll for this outstanding achievement,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “They are great representatives of the college on the local, state, and national levels.”
The All-Alabama Academic Team members are selected by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for their demonstration of academic excellence and intellectual rigor, leadership and service, and for their commitment to extending their education beyond the classroom to benefit society.
Ramirez and Carroll were two of 46 students from across the state to be recognized. In total, more than $64,000 in scholarships was awarded to the 46 recognized students.
In addition, ten Alabama students were recognized as Coca-Cola Scholars, 2 Gold, 7 Silver, and 1 Bronze. Ramirez was chosen as one of the Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholars and received an additional $1,250 in scholarship money.
The All-Alabama Academic Team recognition program was founded in 1995 to complement the All-USA Academic Team Program sponsored by USA Today, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the American Association of Community Colleges.
