Northeast Alabama Community College has recently been notified that the college’s LPN Program is ranked 5th in Alabama among Practical Nursing Programs by a letter from Bryce Hall, President of PracticalNursing.org. Hall said, “On behalf of our team, I am pleased to inform you that Northeast Alabama Community College’s licensed practical nursing program has been ranked as one of the top 5 LPN programs in the state of Alabama!”
LPN programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and beyond. “For example, we analyzed past and present NCLEX-PN ‘pass-rates’ – weighted by year,” explained Hall. You can learn more about the methodology used at http://www.practicalnursing.org/lvn-lpn-ranking-methodology.
Hall continued, “Congratulations to the entire LPN team at Northeast on this wonderful accomplishment!” Northeast was provided with an official badge for the ranking which will be used to share the outstanding news with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
In closing, Hall added, “We wish your team and students continued success.”

If you are interested in the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Northeast, contact Mrs. Jane Hopson, Director of Nursing Education, at 256-638-4418 or 256-228-6001, ext. 2299, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"NACC is very proud of our LPN program and graduates,” said Hopson. “I was the PN coordinator at the inception of the program in 2004. We have always had students who achieve our high expectations. The employment rates have always been above 90% and I do not foresee those going down in the future."
The nursing curriculum is a concept-based curriculum that reflects the stated mission and philosophy of the Alabama Community College System (ACCS). To prepare graduates in the role of an associate degree nurse by first integrating the role of a practical nurse, the ACCS has developed a one plus one curriculum that provides students with the education for a practical nursing certificate at successful completion of the third semester. Students may continue on to earn an associate degree and RN licensure.
Early registration for the Summer Semester is fast approaching. Registration for all students begins by appointment on Monday, April 3. Regular registration is May 31 and classes begin June 1.
