Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) is proud to announce the hiring of Jabo Moore as the new head coach of the Mustangs golf program.
Coach Moore comes to Northeast with a successful record and a deep commitment to student-athlete development. He most recently served as the golf coach at North Sand Mountain High School, where his teams achieved remarkable accomplishments—including three county championships, three sectional titles, three sub-state victories, two state championships, and a state runner-up finish.
“We are very pleased to have Jabo Moore as our golf coach,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “Coach Moore is a widely respected golfer and is a golf pro himself, as well as having served as a golf coach before. His men's team, in fact, won the Alabama state championship for North Sand Mountain High School, as well as having won other championships. Our Athletic Director, Jimmy Kolaitis, did a great job of bringing Coach Moore to Northeast.”
NACC’s Athletic Director Jimmy Kolaitis is equally excited about Moore joining the Mustangs. “Jabo Moore is a great addition to our NACC Family,” said Kolaitis. “He fits our mission at Northeast, both personally and professionally. He’s a family man with high values, and he’s proven that he can win championships. He has a good pulse on the golfers around the state, with the ability to develop talent and compete for championships. He turned North Sand Mountain into a powerhouse, and we feel like he will bring the same expectations to Northeast Alabama.”
Coach Moore expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity. “I am honored to accept the position of Head Golf Coach at NACC,” said Moore. “This is an incredible opportunity, and I’m looking forward to joining the NACC family and helping build a strong, competitive program.”
Beyond his teams’ success, Moore is known for fostering a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented culture. “During my time at North Sand Mountain, I had the privilege of working with outstanding student-athletes who were committed to improving themselves both on and off the course,” he shared. “I’m excited to bring that same passion and dedication to Northeast.”
Moore says he is eager to get started and lead the Mustangs into a new era of excellence in golf. “My goal is to help student-athletes develop their skills, compete at a high level, and represent NACC with pride,” he said. “I’m grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to get started. Go Mustangs!”
