Northeast Alabama Community College is pleased to announce that eight students made the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Huntingdon College. These students achieved a 3.8 or higher grade point average for the fall 2015 semester. Huntingdon operates an Evening Bachelor’s Degree Program located on the NACC campus, which enables students to stay and complete their bachelor’s degree. The students, home town, and majors are:
Misty Leigh Little---Ft. Payne, Criminal Justice
James Eric Jernigan---Pisgah, Business Management
Kristin Danielle Land---Rainsville, Business Management
James Coty Durham---Scottsboro, Criminal Justice
Morgan Shae Pendergrass---Scottsboro, Criminal Justice
Zachary Wilson Stewart--Stevenson, Business Management
Amber Lorraine Jones---Sylvania, Business Management
Sandra Charlene Gothart---Woodville, Health Care Management
"Huntingdon has been a great partner with Northeast," stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. "It is good to see our students performing so well, but expect that they will." Campbell added that the university partnership with Huntingdon is a great opportunity for Northeast students. "Students can stay at home, finish Northeast, enroll with Huntingdon and get their university degree from a very good college without leaving our campus. All for a comparatively low tuition rate as well."
After students complete an Associate’s degree at NACC, they can finish a four-year Bachelor’s degree through Huntingdon at NACC. Classes meet one night a week for five weeks, and students can complete 3-4 classes per semester. After students take their first class through Huntingdon they should be able to do enough classes a semester to finish their Bachelor’s in one and a half to two years.
“As Site Coordinator for Huntingdon College’s Evening Bachelor’s Degree Program at Northeast, I have the privilege of working with these students from initial advisement through graduation,” said Dr. Bennett D. (Chip) Tucker, Jr. “Northeast does an exemplary job of preparing their students for our program. Comments from our instructors echo this commendation every semester. These students have set the bar very high for other Northeast students to follow. I have no doubt these Dean’s List students will be successful in whatever endeavor they pursue and will represent Northeast Alabama Community College and Huntingdon College with notable distinction.”
