The Emergency Medical Services Continuing Education Program at Northeast Alabama Community College is pleased to partner with the Young Farmers of DeKalb and Jackson counties to present “Farm Safety Day” to local First Responders, EMS, and Fire Rescue Personnel. The training will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 8 am until 3 pm in the NACC Health Education Building, Room 106. In addition to farm safety, there will be an Air Evac Life Team Landing Zone Training.
“We value our local farmers and their vital contribution to our community and Alabama’s agricultural industry,” said Shelia Barnes, Director of the EMS program at NACC. “Our desire is to assist them and the emergency responders to provide up to date training and skills in the event of an agricultural injury or machinery entrapment.”
Barnes continued: “Farm accidents are common in our area. This free, interactive training event is for you, the critical link to prompt and effective care for those injured. Come join us for a day full of hand-on informational sessions to help you to care for our neighbors and friends.”
Registration is open to the first 100 registrants at www.eventbrite.com; search for “Farm Safety Day” to complete your registration. Lunch will be served and t-shirts will be provided. EMS CEUs will be awarded.
