NACC Celebrates 49 Dual Enrollment Graduates in 2026

May 18, 2026

Forty-nine outstanding students are celebrating a significant academic milestone this year after earning both their high school diploma and a college degree through the Dual Enrollment program at Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC).

“Dual Enrollment is an outstanding program, and these are outstanding, very talented students,” stated Dr. David Campbell, NACC President. “The program takes great coordination between the high schools and our staff to get the degrees and courses managed. Great work on everyone’s part!”

The Dual Enrollment program at NACC allows high school students to enroll in college-level courses and earn credit toward both their high school and college requirements. For these 49 students, the program has culminated in the simultaneous achievement of their high school and associate degrees.

NACC’s Dual Enrollment Coordinator Staci Miller reflected on the students’ achievements. “One of the greatest rewards in education is watching students realize that they are capable of more than they ever imagined,” said Miller.  “These 49 students did just that when they earned both their associates degree and high school diploma at the same time. Each of them had to overcome obstacles and challenges along the way but they have persevered and earned every bit of recognition they are receiving for their accomplishments! Congratulations!”

NACC is very proud to recognize these students as 2026 Dual Enrollment Graduates:

“These dual graduates represent the very best of what can happen when students are willing to challenge themselves and invest in their future,” said Jake Gipson, NACC Dean of Student Servies. “Balancing high school and college coursework is no easy task, yet these students remained committed to their goals and achieved something truly remarkable. We are proud of their accomplishments and excited to see the many ways they will continue to succeed moving forward.”

NACC’s Associate Dean of Student Services Dawn Osborne echoed the sentiments of Gipson, saying, “The extraordinary accomplishment of these 49 dual graduates is a true testament to their hard work, determination, and commitment to making the most of every opportunity. By earning both their associate degree and high school diploma simultaneously, they have already created a strong foundation for their future success.”

These students all have bright futures ahead of them. “Some are prepared to enter the workforce with valuable skills and training, while others will continue their education at universities across Alabama and beyond, including one graduate who will proudly attend Rutgers University this fall. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and excited to see the amazing paths they will pursue next,” Osborne added.

The Dual Enrollment program at Northeast has seen record growth over the course of the last few years, and the College looks forward to welcoming more Dual Enrollment graduates into the NACC Alumni family.
