Northeast Alabama Community College recently received an additional contribution to the Ernie Kennamer Foundation Scholarship Fund from NACC alumnus Mr. Ernie Kennamer. Mr. Kennamer visited campus last week to present the donation to NACC President Dr. David Campbell and NACC Event Planner Mrs. Chasley Bellomy Brown.
Mr. Kennamer established the scholarship fund following a comedy show fundraiser held this past fall at the college, which raised over $5,000 for scholarships. The event, arranged by Mrs. Brown, marked a successful start for the scholarship fund, and Mr. Kennamer and NACC hope to make this an annual event to continue raising funds for students.
“We very much appreciate Mr. Kennamer using his time and talent to help benefit our students with scholarships,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “He is very generous with his own financial contributions to our students as well.”
A native of Scottsboro and a retired educator, Mr. Kennamer has pursued his lifelong interest in performing comedy since retiring from education. He now performs at venues throughout the United States and continues to support Northeast students through his scholarship fund.
The college is grateful for Mr. Kennamer’s generosity and his commitment to supporting students at Northeast Alabama Community College.
