Northeast Alabama Community College will be hosting the Mustang Community Resource Fair on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the academic quad. Community agencies from all across Jackson and DeKalb Counties will come together to share helpful information with students, faculty, staff and community members. This event promotes awareness of the many services that are available in the community including food services, clothing resources, housing and shelter, childcare, healthcare, eldercare, crisis and emergency services, transportation, education, and employment.
The Psi Epsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at NACC initiated the Mustang Community Resource Fair in the fall as part of its college project. The Phi Theta Kappa officers recently attended the Alabama Regional Convention and received multiple awards including a Hallmark award for the community resource fair project.
“I am very proud of Phi Theta Kappa for creating an award-winning project that helps our students and the community as a whole,” stated Dr. David Campbell, NACC President.
“We hosted the first Mustang Community Resource Fair during the fall semester, and it was such a success that we decided to host it again this spring,” explained Juliah Sanford, Director of Developmental Studies and College Retention at NACC. “This event enables our students and community members to become more informed citizens so we can help one another, but it also provides an opportunity for community service agencies to network with other agencies.”
If you work with a community service agency and would like to participate in the Mustang Community Resource Fair, please contact Juliah Sanford at email@example.com or (256) 638-4418 or (256) 228-6001, ext. 2257. All community members and NACC students are welcome to attend.
