Northeast Alabama Community College invites the public to attend an exhibit entitled “Contemporary Artisans of Northeast Alabama.” The exhibit will be held in the Archives and Special Collections Room (Room 206) of the Cecil B. Word Learning Resources Center on the NACC campus.
The exhibit will feature hand-blown glass, handcrafted jewelry, one-of-a-kind pieces of pottery, and more. The exhibit will highlight the craftsmanship of local artisans such as Cal Breed (Orbix Hot Glass), Valinda Miracle (Miracle Pottery), Barbara Kilgore (BK Ceramics), Bill Kirby, and Gene Hess.
Dr. Julia Everett, Director of the Learning Resources Center noted, “Mr. Wilhelm and I are excited to partner with these local artisans to highlight their many talents. We hope the community will take the opportunity to enjoy these different artistic media all in one venue.”
The exhibit will be on display for public viewing from June 1 to June 29, 2018, on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:00 noon-5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon (other times by appointment).
