The Alabama Ballet with its company of 40 dancers, beautiful staging and magnificent lighting performed the funny, adventurous and delightful love story of Don Quixote on Northeast Alabama Community College’s stage in the Tom Bevill Lyceum on February 13, 2016.
“The Alabama Ballet is a highly accomplished and nationally recognized company, and their performance was extraordinary,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “Having a ballet event of this quality really sets our area apart from most in the Southeast. We are proud to provide this for our service area and Heather Rice, our Development Director, is commended for her hard work and fundraising skills in permitting the college to be able to host this very special performance.”
Northeast worked with the Alabama Ballet to bring you this performance during a holiday celebrating love, Valentine’s Day. A special cookie reception was available for guests during intermission. Giselle, a beautiful love story is already being planned for February 2017 by Dr. David Campbell – NACC President, Tracey Alvey – Alabama Ballet’s Artistic Director and Heather Rice – NACC Development Director.
The college would like to thank our sponsors for their support of the ballet including the Alabama State Council on the Arts and our State Legislators for providing funds for the Arts Council, Dr. Tara Moncus and The Rainsville Dental Village, the Scottsboro Three Arts Club and Ms. Glenda Moody.
