Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) and the Jackson County Heritage Association (JCHA) are pleased to announce that plans for the second Cedar Hill Cemetery Stroll are under way. This year’s stroll, which will be held in fall 2019, will be funded by a generous grant from the Bynum Foundation. The Bynum Foundation is a charitable trust established in 2005.
“Northeast Alabama Community College is honored to serve the community through the creation and support of these educational opportunities,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “Service to the community is what we are here for!”
Last year’s event, funded by a grant from the Alabama Bicentennial Commission, drew almost 700 attendees. Local actors portrayed fifteen prominent citizens and told their stories graveside. Donations from the event were used to purchase a grave marker for fallen US Deputy Marshall Ed Moody.
