The Master Teacher Movement, established in 1962, by Roger Garrison, brings faculty together to collaborate on effective teaching strategies and classroom challenges in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Instructors participated in morning, afternoon, and evening teaching sessions that culminated in discipline-specific presentations. Faculty had the opportunity to meet other instructors, strengthen the bond between community colleges, and to explore new ways to engage students in the classroom.
Northeast has been the selected campus site for the program and activities for many years. Sessions were held on the Northeast campus as well as various venues in DeKalb and Jackson counties.
