Title III Update
Technology Learning Center Report
Judith Lea, Director
September began with a holiday and the college closed.
Even with a day off the month still was very busy. The lab
serviced 842 students during the month of September.
Along with assisting students the TLC offers many other
services. As director I serve on the Distance Education
Committee and we are in the process of writing a manual for Best
Practices for online instructors. This will serve as a guide for
those teaching online classes at Northeast. We hope this will be
a valuable resource for instructors.
I was able to host the Northeast booth for the Jackson County
Fair. This was a great outreach opportunity to meet new people
and tell them about Northeast and the Technology Learning Center
as well as the many other services the college offers.
I enrolled in two Blackboard classes being offered free of
charge as professional development. The first class is a beta
class for the new Blackboard program xpLor. This program is a
cross-platform Learning Object Repository that is planned to be
deeply integrated into Learn, ANGEL, Moodle, Joule, and Sakai.
The TLC served as one of the locations for the new NACC
Instructors came in for training and seven adjuncts and one full
instructor completed their 10 hours technology training.
