February 2011 Technology Learning Center Report
Judith Lea, Director |
|
As we prepare to upgrade to Blackboard
9, Director
Judith Lea has enrolled in a Blackboard Cohort class that meets
on line every Monday for an hour. The class began February 7th
and will run through April. The class is designed to share and
learn as different institutions prepare to upgrade to 9.1.
A new series of student workshops
started on Computer Literacy. The first workshop “The Internet
and the World Wide Web” was attended by 15 students.
Once again the center continues to serve as a proctor setting
not only for Northeast Students but for students from Athens
State, University of Texas at Dallas, and Brigham Young
University.
A technology trainer from Howard Technologies conducted
Classroom Technology Workshops on February 17th. This gave
instructors an opportunity to see the classroom technology in
various buildings on campus. With Title III funding 10
classrooms were installed during early spring semester.
Workshops were conducted in the following buildings: Pendley
Admin; Business Education, Annex, and English Building. Another
six classrooms are expected to be complete before the end of
summer. Thirty-seven instructors attended the classroom
technology training.
The number of students attending the
center for technology assistance continues to grow. During
February, 275 students were assisted by the center director or
one of the two student lab assistants.
We look forward to record attendance during March.
