Registering to Take the GED Test
At least one week prior
to assigned test date:
-
Call for an appointment to register
-
Pre-resister and pay the required fee ($50.00 for the first time)

Complete the required paperwork
Registration for the GED takes about one hour and 30 minutes to complete. If an
individual makes an appointment and does not attend the registration session, he
or she will not be permitted to take the test on the date given. He or she must
call back for a new registration and test date.

Spanish-speaking persons may request a Spanish version of the test.
Taking the GED Test
The GED Test on MONDAY or SATURDAY starts at 8:00 a.m. and requires five to
eight hours, counting breaks and lunch, to finish. Examinees should be prepared
to stay all day. Please call for more information.
The GED Test on WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY starts at 5:00 p.m. and requires about four
hours each evening. Examinees must attend BOTH NIGHTS.
Qualified applicants for GED testing will be accepted without discrimination as
to sex, race, color, national origin, or disability. Individuals who due to a
disability may require a special test administration should discuss their needs
with the examiner before the testing date.
