Drug-Free Schools Act Compliance

Northeast Alabama Community College is a public education institution of the State of Alabama and, as such, shall not permit on its premises, or at any activity which it sponsors, the possession, use, or distribution of any alcoholic beverage or any illicit drug by any student, employee, or visitor.

All students are provided with the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program Handbook, which includes

  • NACC standards of conduct and disciplinary sanctions;

  • legal sanctions (summary);

  • health risks associated with drug and alcohol abuse;

  • list of contacts for help, information, and treatment.

The counselors in the Student Center are available concerning information on substance abuse and assistance in obtaining counseling or other treatment.

Printed copies of the Handbook are available in the Admissions Office in the Student Center, and a copy is mailed to each student enclosed with the acceptance letter.
