Message from the President

With the beginning of our reaffirmation of accreditation process, Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) and the Commission on Colleges (COC) begin a new era.   This process reflects one of the most extensive and substantial changes in reaffirmation in the history of COC.  As in the past this process assures that standards of quality are met. This is accomplished through a detailed compliance report that NACC submits to the COC on such issues as institutional effectiveness, faculty credentials, governance, and student services.  The COC expects this compliance report to be honest, open, and characterized by integrity.  NACC demands no less.

A new dimension to reaffirmation is the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).  This report is to be done on some aspect of NACC that will enhance student learning.  We will thoroughly and systematically determine what our QEP will be.  But the question to our challenge is simple:  what is the best thing that we can do to improve learning for our students?   Our QEP has the potential to not only improve student learning but in the process we will be able to improve Northeast as an institution as well.

The work will be challenging and sometimes demanding and it will require a team effort throughout our campus community.  But challenges present new opportunities and provide us with a means to adapt and change with the times.  I look forward to working with you in these efforts.

David Campbell, President, NACC
