NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

Northeast Alabama Community College demonstrates compliance in the publication and dissemination of academic policies. NACC publishes and disseminates academic policies to students through the following publications: the college Catalog, recruiting brochures, Dual Enrollment/Accelerated Information, program brochures, class schedules, and the college Web site.

The college publishes and disseminates academic policies to faculty via the following: the college Catalog, the college Web site, and the Faculty & Staff Handbook.

Further, academic policies and guidelines concerning transfer of credit to other state institutions are published online by the State Articulation and General Studies Commission for both student and faculty use.

Information is disseminated to other interested parties through the aforementioned publications or upon appropriate request. The Director of Promotions and Marketing reviews all documents prior to publication.

(1) The NACC Catalog provides students with comprehensive information concerning the mission of the college, the programs offered, the requirements for each program, student services, and regulations. The Student Handbook is published as a component of the Catalog.

(2) Recruiting brochures are distributed to all local high schools and to places of business, as well as mailed to prospective students. The prospective student has the opportunity to return a portion of this brochure requesting further information about the college.

(3) The Statewide Transfer and Articulation Reporting System (STARS) Guide disseminates to students primarily via the STARS Web site. This Guide informs students regarding the General Education Core and contains transfer links to all public institutions of higher education in the state.

(4) Dual Enrollment/Accelerated Information gives local high school students information concerning college courses that can be taken while still in high school.

(5) Prior to each semester, the college publishes a class schedule which includes academic policies relevant to registration. All pertinent calendar dates are published also. The class schedule is disseminated as an insert in the local newspapers, distributed to area businesses, and made available at several locations on campus. The schedule is also published online.

(6) The NACC Web site publishes general academic information, class schedules, admissions and registration information, campus news and events, and contact information.

(7) Brochures and pamphlets provide information regarding specific academic and technical program offerings.
