NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

Northeast Alabama Community College demonstrates compliance. The yearly academic calendar is published in the college Catalog, available both in print and online. An academic calendar for each semester is published in the class schedule and is posted on the college Web site. The class schedule is distributed as an insert in the local newspapers and is available at several locations on campus as well as online. 

The institution’s grading policies are published in the college Catalog. This includes an explanation of the college’s grading system and procedures for course forgiveness, academic bankruptcy, and the awarding of quality points. The Catalog also publishes grading policies specific to the Nursing and Emergency Medical Services Programs. Each instructor distributes a course outline to every student at the beginning of each semester which includes methods of evaluation and grading policies specific to the course and instructor. These policies adhere to those published in the Catalog. 

The Refund Policy is published annually in the college Catalog and in the class schedule each semester. The Refund/Repayment Policy for Students Receiving Federal Title IV Aid is also published in the Catalog.

NOTE: The Student Handbook is published as a component of the Catalog. Information concerning the academic calendar, grading policies, and refund policy are published in the main section of the Catalog.
