JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

Compliance.

NARRATIVE/JUSTIFICATION FOR JUDGMENT OF COMPLIANCE

Northeast Alabama Community College demonstrates compliance. The institution’s president, Dr. David Campbell, is accountable to the Chancellor of the Alabama College System (two-year college system) for the day-to-day operation of the institution according to State Board of Education policy. Dr. Campbell was hired by the State Board of Education in July 2001.  His job description, as contained in his NACC personnel file, includes the following duties and responsibilities:

1.      Be responsible for the organization and administration of the College.

 

2.      Recruit staff and recommend the appointment and release of all staff members.

 

3.     Develop with the administration and faculty a budget for approval by the State Board of Education.

 

4.      Direct educational planning of plant facilities.

 

5.      Work with proper county and state persons regarding all matters affecting the College.

 

6.      Approve all official college publications (Catalog, etc.).

 

7.     Approve all scheduling of facilities and of staff and submit for approval the school calendar to the Chancellor of the Alabama College System.

 

8.      Interpret the community college program to the community.

 

9.      Be responsible for the completion of all school reports required by state agencies or requested by local and national agencies.

 

10. Delegate authority and responsibility to other officers and faculty members and hold these individuals to the full discharge of their duties.

 

11. Assume basic responsibility for maintaining all accreditation standards or other standards of  the State Board of Education.

 

12.  Develop long-range plans to provide for continued growth and improvement of the College.

 

13.  Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Chancellor of the Alabama College System.

As the job description demonstrates, Dr. Campbell’s primary responsibility is to the college.  He is employed solely by the Alabama State Board of Education.

Dr. Campbell is not a member of the Alabama State Board of Education.
