QUALIFICATIONS

DUTIES

¨      Provide career and academic counseling for ETS participants

¨      Administer and/or evaluate diagnostic tests to assess individual student needs

¨      Assist in the development of Individual Educational Plans

¨      Assist the staff and participants with interpersonal skills and development activities

¨      Teach behavioral and social skills to participants

¨      Coordinate training of peer advisors and peer counselors in interpersonal skills and effective motivational techniques

¨      Monitor student progress through data collection and analysis

¨      Coordinate development of workshops related to participants’ needs and interests

¨      Serve as liaison between project and area colleges

¨      Arrange visits, appointments, and other contact between participants and representatives of colleges

¨      Counsel participants regarding application to and enrollment in college

¨      Evaluate transcripts to determine admission status of participants

¨      Assist students in applying for financial aid to enroll in college

♦        Assist in project evaluation     

♦        Track participants to determine retention, graduation, grade point averages, and enrollment rates for project evaluation

¨      Serve as advocate for disadvantaged students

DUTIES

♦        Instruct technical core curriculum classes in Machine Tool  Technology.

♦        Conduct instruction in a wide variety of settings and time frames to include:  day, evening, and off campus.  Some traveling may be required.

♦        Assist in the planning for instruction.  Prepare course materials, objectives, syllabi, and curriculum design.

♦        Organize and maintain instructional equipment as required.

♦        Serve as faculty advisor to an assigned group of students.

♦        Comply with all policies of the State Board of Education, the Department of Postsecondary Education, and the College.

♦        Perform other duties as assigned.
