The Army Contracting Command at the AMCOM Contracting Center is holding a job fair at the Marriott Hotel at 5 Tranquility Base in Huntsville, Alabama, from 8:30 to 3:00 on Friday, January 22.  The Command is looking for contract specialists to hire at the GS-12 level. These are U.S. government civilian positions. Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Department of Defense by providing critical skills to support military operations.

ARMY CONTRACTING COMMAND

POSITION: Contract Specialist (SCBK09833574OCE) - Multiple Positions Open

SALARY RANGE:  $69,930 to $90,907

MAJOR DUTIES: As a Contract Specialist in the Army Contracting Command (ACC), you will develop and control comprehensive contract management programs, including planning the acquisition of vital products and services, preparing cost and price analyses, performing comparative analyses of contractor proposals, and negotiating and administering contracts.  Job responsibilities include working with research and development programs for weapon systems and/or other complex equipment and performing production management activities needed to acquire equipment, spare parts, repair parts and extensive technical and commercial services. You may also develop pricing and acquire products and services to support foreign military sales.

These positions are open to all qualified acquisition professionals who meet the following basic qualifications:

·         Have a Bachelor's Degree

·         Be a United States citizen

·         Have a minimum of 24 academic hours in business-related disciplines such as accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management

·         Have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
