Ugandan Thunder to Perform April 14
"Ugandan Thunder," a group of 18 boys and girls ages 8-11 from
Uganda in East Africa, will be appearing again this year at
Northeast Alabama Community College at 7 pm on Thursday, April
14, 2011, in the Music Auditorium of the WM Beck Health and Fine
Arts Center. "Ugandan Thunder" will sing some of your favorite
hymns, African and American style, plus they will present music
in their native Lugandan tongue. It will be a wonderful,
high-energy concert full of singing and dancing, along with some
great percussion music from African drums.
In addition to the musical presentation, the children will also
share about growing up in a land that has been ravaged by a
twenty-year war, poverty, AIDS, and malaria. You will hear how
their faith in God has changed their hopeless lives into lives
with great meaning and purpose.
The group "Ugandan Thunder" is sponsored by "Pennies for Posho,"
a non-profit Christian organization that is committed to feeding
the hungry children of Africa.
It will be a concert like no other, and one you will not want to
miss. For reserved seating for your group, please contact Susan
Barron, Events Planner at NACC, at college ext. 248, or by email
