Mu Alpha Theta Officers Make Plans for Upcoming Year

The 2011-12 Mu Alpha Theta officers at Northeast Alabama Community College met recently to discuss upcoming plans for the year. Mu Alpha Theta will co-sponsor the Mustang 5K Run/Walk with Sigma Kappa Delta, Phi Theta Kappa, and the Student Government Association on Saturday, October 29, 8:00 am. The annual fall induction ceremony for new Mu Alpha Theta members will be on Thursday, November 10, at 12:30 pm with guest speaker Greg Graham, an aerospace engineer with the U.S. Army Aviation Missile Research Development Engineering Center. Mu Alpha Theta will also sponsor an Algebra I Bowl for area Algebra I students on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at 5:00 p.m.

Mu Alpha Theta is the national mathematics honor society for community college and high school students throughout the United States. To be eligible for membership in Mu Alpha Theta a student must have completed MTH112 Precalculus Algebra or a higher level mathematics course; have a 3.0 GPA (out of a possible 4.0) in all two year college mathematics courses at or above the MTH112 level; and be pursuing a higher level mathematics course that is one above the MTH112 level.
