“I am honored to have the privilege to serve as NACC Foundation Board Chairman,” stated Lyda. “I am a charter member and have had the opportunity to observe the board program grow over the years and continue to strive to assist our college in giving our students every opportunity to prepare them for their future. I believe that our community college is one of the tools that can and will move DeKalb and Jackson County forward and thereby continue to improve the quality of life for all our citizens. I am grateful for the support the citizens of our two counties have provided since our beginning.”

Hoyt Harbin, outgoing chairman, has been on the Foundation Board from the beginning. Harbin is the owner of Harbin Ford and Harbin Chevrolet in Scottsboro, Alabama. “He is a great business leader in his community and is a great asset to our Foundation” stated Heather Rice, NACC Development Director. “Mr. Harbin is always pushing the importance of education and how lucky our communities are to have Northeast Alabama Community College in our back door.” Harbin will continue to serve on the board, and was presented with a platter at the Holiday Gala with an inscription that read “Leading by Example.”

“We at Northeast very much appreciate the work our Foundation Board chairmen and all board members do for the college,” added Dr. David Campbell, NACC President. “They volunteer their talents and leadership for projects and activities that provide educational opportunities for our students and the community.
