English Honorary Inducts New Members
The Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta at Northeast
Alabama Community College recently held its fall initiation. The
ceremony was held in the Health Education Building. Fifty-five
new candidates were inducted.
Sigma Kappa Delta is an English honor
society for two-year college students. The NACC chapter was
chartered in 1996, making it the first in Alabama and the fourth
in the nation. Since 1996, Epsilon Alpha Chapter has initiated
over 1,800 students. Sigma Kappa Delta recognizes students who
have received a B or better in English 101 or 102 and have
maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.3. Members of Sigma Kappa Delta
are given opportunities for scholarships locally and nationally.
Additionally, members can submit their fiction to the national
SKD for inclusion in the national literary journal, Hedera
Helix.
