"Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy
People" Offered January 22
"Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People: A Workshop for Anyone
Who Has Always Wanted to Play the Piano" will be presented at
Northeast Alabama Community College by David Haynes, Instructor,
on Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
If you yearn to experience the joy of playing piano, but you
don't want years of weekly lessons, then this short course is
for you. A tortuous regimen of scales, exercises, note reading,
counting and theory usually associated with piano lessons is not
necessary. If you’re a true beginner in music, or an experienced
note reader who wants to be freed from reading notes, in just
one enjoyable evening you can learn enough secrets of the trade
to make piano playing a part of your life, learning to play the
way the pros do--with chords. Save time and money with this
innovative approach that shows you the easy way to play several
songs right in class, and then develop your techniques on your
own piano or keyboard using the exclusive CD provided by the
instructor. You'll learn all the chords needed to play any song,
any style and any key including: gospel, country, blues,
standards, show tunes, Christmas carols, etc. You'll also get a
healthy dose of insider secrets on how to embellish songs.
This is an absolutely beginning class in chord piano techniques
that will have you playing your favorite songs soon after only
one session. It’s a proven, fun and relaxed approach to
professional-style playing. No one will be embarrassed or put on
the spot in class and people are amazed at how much they learn
in just one session. If you can find middle C and know the
meaning of Every Good Boy Does Fine, you already know enough to
enroll in this workshop. If not, send a self-addressed stamped
envelope for a free pamphlet to Music Masters, 90 Molly Lane,
Ringgold, GA, 30736 and then register with confidence! Cost of
the course is $50, plus an additional $25 materials fee
collected by instructor in class (32-page book and a 68-minute
practice CD which is used as the textbook in class). The book
and CD reviews everything learned in class and walks you through
the process of playing each song at home through listening and
imitating step by step.
David Haynes, of Ringgold, Georgia, has taught music for over 30
years, and enjoys inspiring thousands of people in his classes
all over the eastern United States with his enthusiasm and love
of music. Prepare for a wonderful and dynamic experience while
learning “Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People.” Haynes has
a master’s of music education from Andrews University in
Michigan; a bachelor’s of music education and bachelor’s of
German from Southern College in Tennessee; and an associate
degree in computer science from the College of DuPage in
Illinois.
Because enrollment is limited, pre-registration is requested in
order to estimate the number of books needed. Students may
register by contacting Pat Bridgeman in the Office of Workforce
Development, Room 148, Pendley Administration Building, or by
mail to the attention of Pat Bridgeman, Community Services
Coordinator, Northeast Alabama Community College, PO Box 159,
Rainsville, AL 35986. The cost of the class is $50, payable to
