NACC Graduate Becomes Certified
Psychiatric Pharmacist
Northeast Alabama Community College graduate Daniel Wu is
reaching a professional milestone few achieve in their careers.
After completing his doctorate of pharmacy from Samford
University’s McWorter School of Pharmacy and a psychiatric
pharmacy residency at the Tuscaloosa Veteran Affair Medical
Center, Mr. Wu soon will be now one of less than five hundred
certified psychiatric pharmacists in the world. Psychiatric
pharmacists work closely with medical doctors to select and
establish dosages in the very complicated field of psychiatric
medicine. Mr. Wu also plans to do research in the further
development of psychiatric medicines.
Mr. Wu speaks highly of NACC in helping
him reach his career dream. “I would not have become who I am
today without this community college that I so dearly love. I
considered my time at Northeast a milestone that defined my
career choice. Northeast provided me with the academic
environment that enriched my mind and at the same time helped me
search for my passions, goals, and objectives in life. It always
scares me to think what I would have become if I had not
attended Northeast after high school.”
“We are very proud of Mr. Wu’s
accomplishments,” stated NACC President David Campbell and a
friend of Mr. Wu and his family. “His story is a good example of
how, through education, someone can achieve anything. Mr. Wu is
very talented and intelligent, and it is a compliment to our
faculty and staff that they could help him develop all his
abilities in the right direction.”
