Student and Successful Stylist Receives Exciting Recognition

Northeast Alabama Community College student and successful stylist, Hannah Riley Henderson, has been receiving exciting attention locally, nationally, and globally because of her fashion blog Styles by Hannah Riles.

Henderson, a fashion merchandizing major at Northeast, stated, “I post various photos and information on outfits I have styled. I have been lucky enough to collaborate and style for multiple clothing companies around the world. I am also very fortunate to have made really incredible contacts with people in the fashion industry through my blog.”

Additionally, Henderson has had the incredible opportunity of working with Teen Vogue Magazine on five different occasions so far in her career. Her fashion blog can be viewed at http://stylesbyhannahriles.blogspot.com.

Henderson was chosen to video a Teen Vogue Outfit of the Day while at a fashion workshop in New York. That video can be seen at http://youtu.be/EDpfl1LTSTQ. She describes her style as a Bohemian look with personality and charm—and with a little bit of an edge.

Since she was very young, Henderson has known that fashion would play a big part in her future and can’t remember when it was not important to her. She also knew that Northeast would be the best place after high school to work toward that future. Upon deciding her field of study, her love of fashion was definitely the key factor in choosing to major in fashion merchandizing.

“I chose Northeast as the first step in my college experience because of the quality of education and the local convenience,” she said. “Also, Northeast has been very generous in providing multiple scholarship opportunities. My experience at Northeast has been absolutely great. I have enjoyed all of the teachers whose classes I have taken thus far.”

Henderson credits Northeast with paving the way for a very smooth transition from high school to college. “NACC is very special in that it allows its students to continue to experience class sizes similar to those in high school. Furthermore, I believe NACC adequately prepares those students planning to further their education at a four-year university.”

After Northeast, Henderson plans to continue her education at Auburn University, where she will complete her bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandizing. Once she finishes college, she plans to move to New York City to work within the fashion industry.

She added, “I would definitely recommend Northeast to prospective students as a wonderful first step in obtaining a higher education. Northeast has been a great school for me due to the friendly environment, convenient location, and numerous scholarship opportunities.”

Henderson lives in Rainsville, Alabama. Her parents are David and Terri Henderson. In addition to her love of fashion, she likes to travel and discover new places.
