NACC Students Win at State Competition
of SkillsUSA
Northeast Alabama Community College is pleased to announce the
following results from the recent 2008 State SkillsUSA
Championships and Leadership Conference in Birmingham:

1st place Class Project Display, Cinthia Rico and Bonita Izell
1st place Promotional Bulletin Board, Yalanda Moore
1st place Ms SkillsUSA (outstanding student award), Jovi Gardner
2nd place Job Skills Demonstration, Josh Hairston
2nd place Cosmetology Quiz Bowl. team
2nd place Architectural Drafting, Brandon Moore
2nd place Men's Hair Design, Jovi Gardner
3rd place Men's Hair Design, Randi Ryan
3rd place Esthetics, Amber Smart (Haley Reel, model)
3rd place Job Interview, Fern Thompson
3rd place Nail Care, Nikomi Clawson
Jovi Gardner was elected Alabama Post-Secondary SkillsUSA
President.
The First Place Winners will advance to the National SkillsUSA
Championships in Kansas City, MO on June 22-28.
Keith Andrews, NACC SkillsUSA Advisor, expressed appreciation to
NACC instructors Julise Clement, Regina Gilliland, Lori Mathews,
Carla McIntire, and Brent Satterfield. who attended and helped
prepare these students for their individual competitions. He
also gave a special thanks to Satterfield and his Criminal
Justice students for providing security during the conference.
SkillsUSA is a national organization serving high school and
college students and professional members enrolled in training
programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations,
including health occupations.
