Phlebotomy Techniques Demonstrated by
NACC Students
Pictured below are two students, Angel Chambers and Gina
Appleton from the Northeast Alabama Community College Medical
Assistant Program. They are demonstrating phlebotomy techniques
with the use of their new blood drawing chair. The chair is made
for the comfort of the patient so they will be more comfortable
and relaxed during the procedure. It has an arm rest for
positioning the arm during the process.
The Medical Assistant Program offers a
thorough training in phlebotomy with one geared toward an AAS
degree and the other is a short-term certificate. Both require
phlebotomy classroom training and hands on training at a
clinical site. After completion of this, the student is ready to
take the National Certification Examination for the phlebotomy
registry. Upon passing of this examination the student will be
titled a Certified Phlebotomist. If you have any questions about
the Medical Assistant Program or the Phlebotomy Certificate,
please call Rachel Walker at NACC, ext 323, or e-mail
walkerr@nacc.edu.
