Fishing Team Heading to College Series National Championship
The Northeast Alabama Community College Fishing Team has a duo headed to the
2014 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship. Hayden Tilley of
Ider and Alex Clayton of Dutton are going to be facing off against 83 other
college teams including the University of Alabama, Auburn University, University
of Florida, University of Georgia, Kansas State University, Mississippi State
University, and many other large universities in the nation. NACC will be the
only community college in the nation represented in this tournament.
Tilley and Clayton will be competing to finish inside the top four teams at the
National Championship. If they make the top four, they will be held over after
the tournament to compete in the Classic Bracket beginning immediately the next
day. The Classic Bracket will be held August 3-5 and on the 5th and will crown a
new Collegiate Angler Champion that will be headed to fish against professionals
in the Bassmaster Classic in Greenville, South Carolina.
Tilley and Clayton will fish the National Championship on July 31-Aug 2 at the
Chatuge Reservoir in Hiawassee, Georgia. The weigh-ins will begin at 1:30 PM CT
each day at the Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia.
