Fishing Team Competes in the Cabela’s BoatUS Collegiate Bass Open

The Northeast Alabama Community College Fishing Team traveled to Dayton, TN on March 14-15 to compete in the Cabela’s BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Open. NACC team members Trey O’Daniel and Jeff Reynolds were sitting in the top 20 after day one’s weigh in with 14.78 lbs.

“Trey and Jeff came out and fished hard on day two against a strong wind and rough water,” said Ross Boydston, team co-sponsor. “Most teams’ day two was worse than their day one.”

O’Daniel and Reynolds brought in a 15.85lb bag of fish for day two which gave them a 13th place finish against some of the nation’s top fishing programs. Co-sponsor Bryan Roe added, “It takes a serious love for fishing to compete and be successful in a tournament with those kinds of rough water conditions. Trey and Jeff competed consistently this weekend.”
