Fishing Team Hosts First Annual Fishing
Northeast Alabama Community College held its First Annual
Fishing Tournament on Saturday, March 22 hosted by the College’s
Fishing Team. The tournament was held at the South Sauty State
Boat Ramp in Langston. “We (the NACC Fishing Team) would like to
thank everybody who came and participated in the tournament,”
said Ross Boydston, Sponsor of the NACC Fishing Team. “We felt
we had a great turn out with nineteen boats entering.”
Seth Cameron and Jason Lamb of Scottsboro won first place
in the tournament with 26.92 lbs. Second Place went to D.J.
Starling and Chris Tucker of Sylvania with 25.02 lbs.
Third place was captured by Mike and Anita Flynn of Ider
with a weigh-in of 22.21 lbs.
NACC College President, Dr. David Campbell, spoke to the team
members at the weigh-in. He said, “I congratulate you on doing a
great job and representing the college so well in the
community.” Following the tournament, Campbell hosted the teams
with a cookout at his home in Langston.
The NACC Fishing Team is entering its second year fishing in
tournaments such as the Carhartt College Southern B.A.S.S.
Regional, Cabela’s BoatUS Collegiate Open, and Fishlife
