NACC and AMA Offer Supervisor Course
Northeast Alabama Community College, in cooperation with the
American Management Association’s University Program, will
present a First Line Supervision workshop on Friday, June 8 and
Friday, June 22, 2007. The workshop will be held on the NACC
campus from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.
According to Mike Kennamer, NACC’s director of workforce
development, “Many first line supervisors are selected because
they are excellent employees who know their job well. However,
transitioning to a supervisory position may prove difficult
without some training in supervision.”
This course will give first line supervisors the confidence and
know-how to achieve and maintain supervisory success in the
contemporary workplace. Participants will learn how to make a
successful transition from staff to supervisor, develop their
own leadership style, give feedback to improve performance and
build a top-performing team.
Cost of the two-day workshop is $249, which includes the AMA
book, award of completion and 2 CEU credits. Contact Julie Cohen
at 256-228-6001, extension 214 or 256-638-4418, ext. 214 to
register or for more information.
