Exceptional Fiber Optics Training
Offered at NACC in February
Northeast Alabama Community College, in cooperation with the BDI
DataLynk, will present a Basic Certified Fiber Optics Technician
course Monday, February 25 through Wednesday, February 27 and
continue with the Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Testing
and Maintenance course Thursday, February 28 and Friday,
February 29. The course training will be held on the NACC campus
from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Location will be confirmed with
registration.
The 3-day introductory basic fiber optics
course (COFT) is designed for anyone interested in becoming a
Certified Fiber Optics Technician. Interested participants
should have a basic working knowledge of computers, be able to
identify small items, and be able to speak and understand the
English language. This program prepares the participant to take
the Certified Fiber Optics Technician exam given at the end of
the course.
The Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in
Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T) is a 2-day program designed to
offer advanced training to anyone involved with the testing and
maintenance of fiber optic networks. Participants must have
taken and passed the Basic Certified Fiber Optics Technician
exam.
Cost of the three-day COFT training is
$600, which includes textbooks, study materials, course CD,
award of completion, 1-year membership to the Fiber Optics
Association, and COFT exam. Cost of the two-day CFOS/T training
is $575, which includes textbooks, study materials, course CD,
award of completion, and the CFOS/T exam.
