Social Etiquette Course Offered to Young People

Northeast Alabama Community College is pleased to announce that Social Etiquette for Young People will be taught by June Guthier of Scottsboro. Ms. Guthier is a certified consultant and a member of The Etiquette Institute, an international organization whose mission is to instill confidence, self esteem, and respect for others, by blending the standards of traditional etiquette with contemporary manners.

This class is designed for the younger set (ages 8-15). Topics covered will include communication (introductions, conversation, telephone); public behavior (theater, public places, school, shopping); parties; dining (setting the table, restaurants, table manners); manners (at home, at school, religious services, funerals); writing (thank you notes, stationery, correspondence, email); looking good (skin care, fashion sense, wardrobe); poise; being a friend.

Classes will meet on Wednesday afternoons July 18, July25, and August 1 from 1:00 – 3:00 in WA112. Cost for tuition is $52.50, which includes handouts and materials needed for the class.
