Popular Drawing Classes Offered Again Spring Semester

Northeast Alabama Community College is pleased to announce that "The Fun of Drawing" and "Advanced Drawing" will be taught as community education classes by Elliott Miller of Scottsboro.

Miller is an accomplished professional artist, who began drawing at age 5 in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. He has been a professional artist since 1975, supporting his family on commissions he earned from portraits and landscape paintings. During the 1990’s Mr. Miller moved from Chicago to southern California, where he became a published artist selling his art prints worldwide, earned an associate degree from Cypress College, and was featured in various national art publications such as “Art Business News” and “Décor Magazine.” He became a much-sought-after artist in the popular artists’ mecca, Venice Beach, California. In 2004 he appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” where he performed a quick oil portrait of Ms. DeGeneres’ mom for Mother’s Day. In 2005, Mr. Miller and his wife relocated to Jackson County where he is an art tutor and attends Northeast Alabama Community College. Some well-known patrons and collectors of his artwork are former Chicago Mayor Harold Washington, jazz songstress Nancy Wilson, Dr. Betty Shabazz, Bill and Camille Cosby, DeGeneres, Calvin (Snoop Dogg) Broadus, and others.
