Mu Alpha Theta Unveils Display Case

Mu Alpha Theta recently unveiled a new display case in the Math and Science Building on the campus of Northeast Alabama Community College. The display case contains student photos and memorabilia from the mathematics honors organization since its charter was granted during the Spring Quarter of 1987. "When I first began the project, the past members were just pictures and names to me. But the more I worked on the display case, the more I began to relate to those past members and realize that I'm the same, just in a different generation," stated Austin Crowe, 2007-2008 Mu Alpha Theta President. During the summer semester of last year Austin began compiling names and group photos of students who have joined Mu Alpha Theta. Including the current 2008 Spring Semester 1,945 students have joined Mu Alpha Theta at Northeast.

Previous members are invited to visit the campus and view the display case in the lobby of the Math and Science Building. “While looking through the display case you will find students who began their college education at Northeast and are now employed in a variety of fields. We have graduates who were members of Mu Alpha Theta who are now pharmacists, teachers, engineers, and doctors, among many other careers,” stated Greg Millican, Chair of the Math and Science Division. Mu Alpha Theta purchased the display case and funds a variety of service projects on campus each year including the Summer Honors Scholarship.
