Computer Basics for Beginners Offered at NACC

Northeast Alabama Community College is now offering lessons for computer basics, intermediate skills, digital photography, Internet café, and web design basics. The courses are intended for the personal computer user who has little or no experience. Classes are hands-on, fun filled, and stress free. Learn how to use the Internet and set-up an e-mail account to send and receive e-mail. Continue your learning with intermediate computer skills course to make your computer experience more productive and enjoyable. Digital photography instruction will include how to use Photoshop® applications and a ton of photo editing features. Learn to create your own Web site from start to finish, and assume your presence on the Web. You can choose as many lessons as you like.

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Deadline to register is one week before the first class date. Participants are expected to attend all classes for which they are registered. Tuition costs are listed along with class scheduling information. Materials are included in instruction cost and will be provided on the first day of class. Class location will be given with registration.

Computer Basics for Beginners
Cost: $ 99
Date: Tuesdays & Thursdays – February 16, 18, 23 & 25
Time: 1 – 4 p.m.

Intermediate Computer Skills
Cost: $ 99 Requires a basic knowledge of computers
Date: Tuesday & Thursday – March 2, 4, 9 & 11
Time: 1 – 4 p.m.

Digital Photography (1 day, 8 hours)
Cost: $ 68
Familiarity with the operation of Windows is assumed. Please provide own digital camera, instruction manual, and attachments.
Date: Friday, February 12, 2010
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Internet Café (1 day, 8 hours)
Cost $65
Learn security and safety practices to protect yourself while “surfing the web.”
Date: Friday, February 19, 2010
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Web Design Basics (1 day, 8 hours)
Cost $85
Familiarity with the operations of Windows is assumed.
Date: Friday, February 26, 2010
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
