Northeast Chorus in Spring Concert
April 15
The Northeast Alabama Community College
Chorus will be heard in a spring concert, Sunday afternoon,
April 15 at 2:30 p.m. The program will be in the Small
Auditorium of the Beck Health and Fine Arts Center on the
college campus and is free.
The singers are under the direction of
Charlene Larson and accompanied by Dr. Joe Burke.
The program of traditional and contemporary choral music will
open with “Lord of the Dance” with Danielle Knox and Ellen
Parker playing handbells. Other works in this section include
“Ave Verum Corpus” by Mozart, John Rutter’s “Look at the World,”
“The Quiet Heart” by John Ness Beck and the spiritual “Set Down
Servant.”
A section of art songs will include
Randall Thompson’s “Choose Something Like a Star,” which is a
setting of Robert Frost’s poem by the same name, and “The
Flowers That Bloom in the Spring” from Gilbert and Sullivan’s
The Mikado. The program will conclude with popular songs and
show tunes from Pippin, Barnum and A Chorus
Line.
