Traditional Resources
NACC distance education/dual enrollment students are granted the
same library privileges as other NACC students. NACC Library
information and policies may be found at the links above.
Using the Online Catalog
The library's online catalog may be found at
http://www.lmn.lib.al.us/search~S45
The catalog contains both print holdings and electronic
holdings.
Instructions and search tips for using the online catalog may be
found at
http://www.nacc.edu/lrc/tutorial-home.htm
Instructions for using eBooks may be found at
http://www.nacc.edu/lrc/tutorial-home.htm
Using Electronic Databases
The NACC Library provides access to a wide range of resources in
electronic format via the World Wide Web.
Alabama Virtual Library
With a home access card, a student enrolled in distance
education/dual enrollment classes at Northeast Alabama Community
College may access the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) from any
remote site with internet access. The AVL may be accessed at
http://www.avl.lib.al.us/ The AVL provides online access to
encyclopedia, full-text newspaper, magazine, and journal
articles, and full-text reference tools.
Since this service is reserved for state residents or students,
no online registration is available to the general public. As a
NACC student, you may contact a NACC faculty or staff member,
and he/she will provide you with an AVL card, which will include
a user name and password. Also, your local public library can
provide you with an AVL card.
An online tutorial is available at
http://www.nacc.edu/lrc/tutorial-home.htm
Reader's Guide and Humanities Index
All NACC library patrons may access the online version of
Reader's Guide and Humanities Index. The address for remote
access to these databases is
http://vnweb.hwwilsonweb.com/hww/login.jhtml
Please call the library for the user name and password.
An online tutorial/help button can be found on the left side of
the screen at HW Wilson: Main.
Assessment (Scavenger Hunt)
Please complete the scavenger hunt and turn it in to your
instructor by the date he/she specified.
