Affording Your Education

1. Before applying for a direct student loan:

1. You must have a current FAFSA form on file.
2. You must obtain an active pin number from www.pin.ed.gov. (You should have a four digit pin number, if you have filed a FAFSA form online yourself.)

2. Once you have completed the steps above, go to www.studentloans.gov.

1. Sign in using your four digit pin number.
2. Complete Entrance Counseling. (Make sure you choose Northeast Alabama Community College from the drop down menu)
3. Complete Master Promissory Note. (You will receive a copy of your MPN by mail within 14 days. If you do not receive an MPN by mail within 14 days, please contact the Financial Aid Office)

3. Register for classes. (must be pre-registered for at least 6 semester hours)

4. After completing the Entrance Counseling, signing a MPN online, and registering for classes you must come to the Financial Aid Office and sign a loan request form.

Northeast Alabama Community College does not participate in PLUS loans.
